Passion | How to Find your Life Passion?

In this era brimming with information, we often find our spirits restless, especially in the bustling life of big cities. The plethora of choices we face, though seemingly a luxury, often leaves us overwhelmed, making it challenging to find that deep, inner connection that brings us true peace and joy.

Life passion is the antidote to the anxiety of information overload and the dilemma of choices.

But how do we find it?

Listen! Place your hand over your left heart. It's there, breathing like a baby, pulsating faintly deep within you.

This voice and energy, initially weak, can easily be drowned out by the noise of the world. However, we can embrace methods that strengthen this inner pulse.

Accept Yourself

Have you ever felt inadequate or thought, "I can't do this"? I have.

I envied experts who, unlike my wide-ranging interests, dedicated decades to a single field. I admired logical thinkers and often tried to imitate them, despite my naturally free-spirited and somewhat scattered thoughts.

But remember, a coin has two sides.

During a spiritual session with my life coach, I expressed feeling not worldly enough. My life coach asked me why I felt I needed to be. She taught me that embracing my inner Peter Pan, who never grows old and sees the world with innocent wonder, is my unique gift – a gift I had been suppressing.

My divergent thinking, in fact, allows me to make keen connections between things and people, a strength I had overlooked.

Benjamin Franklin became who he was because of his blend of literature and science; Bruce Lee, because of his philosophy and martial arts. This world thrives on such interdisciplinary individuals. Why should we only aim to be specialists?

Your 'weaknesses' might just be undiscovered strengths. Instead of hiding them, enhance what makes you uniquely you.

So first, say no to the self-doubt voices in your heart.

Start Small and Keep Iterating

The idea of trying new things might sound cliché, but the real challenge is taking that first step. Before starting my public account, I felt immense pressure for perfection, hindering me from taking action.

My friend, however, quickly wrote and published her thoughts without overthinking, showing that progress doesn't require perfection. Her approach, mirroring the ethos of the internet age – fast iterations and continuous improvement – garnered much appreciation.

Start small. Set weekly 'mini-challenges' for yourself. Try a new dance, a new restaurant, meet a new friend. Do something that stretches your comfort zone.

Reflect on these experiences:

  • Do you feel excitement or joy?

  • Do you feel empowered and energized?

  • Were you focused and efficient?

If yes, you're likely following your passion.

Then, try to connect these 'dots'. As Steve Jobs said, You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.

Build Your Support System

Finally, having a support system is crucial – not just for practical matters, but also for emotional and spiritual guidance. This system can include mentors, colleagues, or even online acquaintances.

As Reid Hoffman, the founder of LinkedIn, said, you're building a diverse team of allies and advisors to grow with over time.

Begin now to build your support system. With sincerity, curiosity, and reflection, share and exchange thoughts with them.

I believe this will lead you into a different world, ever closer to your passion and mission.
